Just had a day at Whinlatter and fell in love with the Piglet. Climbed up fireroads and singletrack easily and zipped through the rolling singletrack; not barge like at all as I previously thought. I felt like a mountain biking god on the downhills. Well, at least a minor deity. On the final downhill on the south loop I’ve never jumped and took berms and corners so well. I haven’t suddenly improved, it’s down to the bike.
I wonder if the Blue Pig is even better?
Stuart, you don’t need this bike back yet do you? I’ll swap you for your Blue Pig.
P.S. Found out what the Maxxis High Rollers are good for - hardpack downhill.
P.P.S. The Horse and Farrier in Threlkeld is a great pub. Wooden beams, no music, massive portions of fish and chips, they let dogs in and they serve Jennings beer. Had a Dark Mild and a Snecklifter.
